"I was dealt with promptly and efficiently"

About: Raigmore Hospital / Cardiology Raigmore Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Raigmore hospital in early February 2025 and discharged on five days later. It transpires that I had had a heart attack probably a few days before my admission.

I was dealt with promptly and efficiently and my treatment resulted in Angioplasty plus it was discovered that I had type 2 diabetes. I cannot praise highly enough the standard of care provided and the doctors and nurses and other staff in wards 6B and 6C were exceptional, as were the staff of the cardiac intervention suite.

It seems "fashionable" to knock the NHS but at the "coalface" it is a very good service indeed and whilst the Raigmore buildings are beginning to show their age there is nothing to criticise about the standard of treatment and care provided.

Dear StuartP

Thank you very much for your lovely post following your admission to Raigmore Hospital earlier this year.

Please accept my sincere apology for the delay in responding to, and acknowledging your kind post.

I am delighted to hear you received such good care from both Cardiology and General Medical Services. I am however sorry to hear that you had a heart attack, and have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

It is always a pleasure to receive such kind comments and to know that the staff at NHS Highland are appreciated both for their hard work and for their attitude towards patients.

I have forwarded your feedback to the relevant teams and asked that managers share this with all the staff involved in your care.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback your experience via Care Opinion.

I hope you are recovering well and enjoying this lovely weather that we are now having.

With kind regards

Sylvia
