"Every member of staff was amazing"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Orthopaedics

(as a relative),

Mum, in her late 90s, arrived in ward 10a needing to be operated on for a partial hip replacement. Every member of staff was amazing and mum was so well looked after. On the day she was being discharged she and some staff had a tear in their eyes. The dedication that all the staff have, especially with the shortage of nhs staff, is excellent.

From mum: So thank you so much for the care I received. It was my first time ever being in hospital and the sister of the ward and all her team run a very good ship. I am recovering well with the confidence everyone gave me.

Hope this helps anyone waiting on a procedure to feel safe.💐

Dear Hip-hop

Thank you for taking time to get in touch with us following your mother's recent stay in Ward 10A QEUH.

It is great to hear that your mum was so well cared for by the ward staff.

The Senior charge nurse and all the ward staff in 10A work hard to provide a high standard of individualised care and to show empathy and kindness.

I will share your kind words with the ward team, it is gratifying for the multidisciplinary team team to receive such positive feedback and it gives a real boost to staff morale.

With best wishes for your mum's continued recovery following her surgery.

Kind regards

Morag Busby, Lead Nurse Trauma and Orthopaedics
