I gave up smoking in 2017.
I could easily walk up 6 flights of stairs without any problems.
I get the flu once every 10 to 15 years. I have always been healthy and am resistant to colds.
In April 2019 I got the flu and it completely destroyed my lungs. For 3 weeks I coughed up blood and thick mucus. Since then I struggle to go up a flight of stairs. I was diagnosed with COPD.
My GP sent me to get a blood test and added a couple of extra tests.
One of those was a PSA which came back double for my age.
I had an MRI scan and biopsy on my Prostate which revealed a stage 3/4.
I refused to have my prostate removed and have since had a Brachytherapy.
I had a recent CT scan for my COPD which revealed a T9 compression fracture of my spine. I have never noticed anything about that, but I did have a very serious motorcycle crash many years ago.
It also revealed a massive kidney stone which I am still receiving treatment for. More treatment due!
I truly thank the dedication and skills of all of the staff of the NHS to keep me going.
