I recently gave birth to my baby boy at Craigavon hospital. I was lucky enough to be cared for under COMC team emerald for my first pregnancy in 2023 - so for my second pregnancy when making my first appointment I was certain I wanted to be under the COMC midwives again. I had the same midwife as for my first son, Sarah - Sarah is fantastic, she remembered my journey from my first pregnancy and was so helpful and supportive, she put me at ease right from my booking appointment, was so attentive arranging appointments and attending scans when she could.

When Sarah wasn’t at an appointment she always checked in with the midwife I’d be seeing, and with myself to see how I was getting on. She was very good at listening to my worries and really empowering me to lead decisions about my birth plan.

When my waters broke she was on the other side of the phone to advise me on what to do. During labour, Breege and Grace were amazing - full of encouragement, helpful with pain relief and positioning. I had to have cord bloods taken for testing for a genetic condition and they communicated so well with all the team looking after me to ensure this was remembered and done at the right time.

I am so trusting of all the team emerald midwives and my husband and I would recommend anyone making their booking appointment to consider choosing the COMC midwives; this service is such an asset to the Southern Trust. Thank you for helping deliver my sons safely into the world.
