The culture in the practice seems to have become less and less patient friendly (I was at the practice over 10 years). I felt constantly pushed to have telephone apts even when not appropriate (e.g, when I had a breast cancer scare and needed 2 week wait referral).

Having developed a new and serious medical condition, I was repeatedly brushed off and treated like a nuisance when I tried to get information and support. The lack of interest and general difficulties negatively impacted my mental health to the extent I have changed practices.

My new practice has been a totally positive experience and shows it is possible to provide a supportive and appropriate service even when there is such pressure on the NHS.
