"Fed up with the backlog"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde WestMARC (Glasgow)

(as the patient),

I lost part of my leg in 2023. I have had 3/4 prothesis repairs and I cant wear it. There is apparently a shortage of techs at Westmarc.

I attended on the and was told my repair had not even been looked at. I was stuck in a 3rd floor flat and the only outside access was to go to hospital. I now have a ground floor flat, however still stuck in due to this.

All the work I have done previously re: physio has been wasted. I am completely stressed and suffer from depression. I am now fed up with the NHS and the backlog both at Westmarc and my local GP. Excuse after excuse!

Dear Traist

We are deeply sorry to hear about the difficulties you have experienced with your prosthesis repairs and the impact this has had on your life. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and distress caused.

We appreciate how frustrating it must have been to attend your appointment only to find that your repair had not been looked at. This is not the level of service we strive to provide, and we are taking steps to address these issues.

If you would like to discuss this further, can you please contact Laura Brady, Prosthetic Clinical Lead on 0300 790 0129.

Kind Regards

Nicole
