"Meeting with a familiar face put me nerves to rest"

About: South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust / Continuity of Midwifery Carer Service

(as a parent/guardian),

My experience of the Continuity Midwifery Care programme was fantastic. I was nervous at first as everything was brand new to me but meeting with the same midwife each appointment put all my nerves to rest. Seeing a familiar face in an unfamiliar circumstance really helped me to relax and enjoy the lead up to birth.

I was comfortable and trusted her advice as it was someone I had got to know. My midwife was able to catch on quickly when subtle changes happened to me. These could easily of been missed if it were a different midwife each time, so for this I am extremely grateful as these small changes actually lead to the birth of my child.

Seeing the same midwife/midwives after birth made me feel extremely supported and reassured. It was lovely that the care didn't just stop once I'd given birth.

My husband and I also attended the antenatal classes provided and found them to be of great help in preparing us for childbirth. The midwives were so knowledgeable and it was great getting to chat with other people going through the same thing as us. The cake was also delicious!!

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback the exceptional care that our continuity midwives have provided you throughout your pregnancy & also postnatally.

Continuity in Midwifery care is a model of care that we would hope to achieve for all in the future. Recognising the impact & benefits of building a relationship with those who care for you. I will share this wonderful feedback & your kind words to both Julia & Nadine.

Thankyou again,

Emma
