I was at a very low point in life when I first met Laura, she was visiting a group I was visiting.
Laura came to give some general advice about what the Disability forum was. I spoke to her as I am disabled and a carer and was looking for some advice. We arranged a meeting and as we got chatting my life story spilled out.
My daughter is a single mum, she too is disabled but manages to work full time. I try to help with her 2 children, one who is severely autistic and the other is on the pathway for diagnosis. There have been numerous issues over the past couple of years.
Laura listened and quickly had me registering with the carers forum. She came with me and gave me lots of moral support. She has helped me get involved in group therapy and gave loads of advice and support.
I am now attending mindfulness classes to help me with stress and anxiety I would never have done this without the dupport Laura gave me. Nothing ever seems too much trouble. She clearly goes above and beyond for those she works with. Her warm personality makes her so easy to talk to and she is a mine of information.
Laura went on to speak with my daughter, the family support she has offered has been wonderful Laura has made sure we are all getting the correct benefits and help we are entitled to. Recently Laura applied for a short break for me and my family, I’m delighted to say it was successful and we are off for a few days soon.
I cannot thank you enough Laura. You have helped us all so much.
