"An incredible and important team"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was referred to the breech specialist team during my pregnancy after my 36 week growth scan showed that my baby was presenting as breech.

They are an incredibly important team, who made me feel valued and supported of my wishes for how I wanted the birth to go.

Magda, Helen and Sophie are a credit to Cornwall’s maternity services. Magda in particular is worth her weight in gold. She was an amazing advocate for me, and it truly felt like she cared and supported my birth plan. Not once did I feel pressured into doing anything I didn’t want. Unfortunately, it did not go the way I would have liked and resulted in a caesarean section. Even after this, Magda visited me on the Wheal Fortune ward and took her time to discuss what happened, validating my feelings and making me feel like she really understood and listened to how important the experience was to me.

It showcases how important it is for women to feel listened to during their pregnancy and birth.
