"My Cardiac Rehab Class"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Cardiac Rehabilitation Raigmore Hospital / Cardiology Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I was travelling with my wife on the ferry from Armadale in Skye to Mallaig on the west coast of Scotland when i felt unwell as if i was struggling to breathe initially the crew from the ferry came to my assistance and when we berthed in Mallaig the ambulance crew and an off duty Paramedic came to treat me I was then flown by coastguard helicopter to Raigmore hospital in Inverness where I had 2 Stents fitted that night with great care, I got home to Glasgow a few days later and i then started Cardiac rehab classes at the

Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow

The care and encouragement i have received there has been first class from the physiotherapists THRESA and CRAIG and also the nursing staff DONNA and HELEN they are very committed and motivated in their roles without their help I would not be felling as well as i do now

I would like them to know how much they are appreciated

Hello 4beoligarry

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such wonderful feedback to the services who looked after you during your recent traumatic sounding event. In particular I'd like to thank you for your positive and uplifting words for our Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at QEUH.

Here at the QEUH cardiac rehabilitation, we strive to provide the best care for our patients within our programme, and feedback such as yours lets us know how well we are doing. To hear that you've had such a good and positive experience at our programme is heartening indeed. I will pass on your words to Theresa, Craig, Donna and Helen and let them know how much you appreciated their care. Once again, thank you so much.

Best wishes,

Anne

Hi 4beoligarry,

I'm really sorry to hear about your recent illness during your trip between Armadale and Mallaig, that must have been really worrying for both you and your wife.

It's great to see that you were so well cared for though right throughout your journey by various staff. I wanted to thank you for your kind comments about our staff from the Scottish Ambulance Service. They will really appreciate reading this.

I hope you're feeling a bit better now and hope the rest of the rehab goes well.

All the best,

Mark
