"My stay on Ward 73"

About: The Princess Royal Maternity Unit / Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73)

(as the patient),

I unfortunately had to stay in PRM Ward 73 for 5 days as my daughter was in NICU and I had an infection so my stay was longer than I expected.

I cannot thank the staff enough for their care, compassion and support during this time. Each member of staff went above and beyond they are a credit to their profession. My room was situated next to the nursing station and I could hear the staff constantly on the phones supporting patients and working non-stop each shift days and nights.

As a nurse myself I was taken back by the care they constantly gave despite how busy they were. Again thank you everyone.

It would be beneficial to have a water cooler in ward 73 rather than walking through to the next ward post-surgery. Also vending machines in the building as none near! As often I would miss meals due to visiting my daughter at NICU would be handy to have a vending machine near by.

Dear by StaceyW,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Congratulations on your new arrival and I hope you are both doing well. I will share your thanks with the staff and will take forward your suggestions in regards to the water cooler and vending machines. Both are really helpful ways of improving woman's experiences while an inpatient.

Best wishes,

Tracy Orr
