"The new out of hours service"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Primary Care Out of Hours University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Recently we had to take our daughter to wishaw general hospital due to her temperature being high and when we got to triage nurse she informed us of a trail of an out of hours gp and I can't believe how quick we were seen and how relaxed the doctor made us feel, thank you so much it's a great idea and I hope this continues for others to be seen so quick. Arrived at 8pm home by 9.30pm

Good morning Young patient.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post on Care Opinion about your positive experience when you had to your daughter to Accident and Emergency because she was unwell with a temperature.

I will pass on your lovely comments to the Primary Care Out of Hours GPs who are part of the trial and they will be pleased to hear that the care and attention given was gratefully received.

I hope your daughter is now recovering well.

Take care, Pamela.

Dear Young patient

Thank you very much for your feedback on this care opinion platform. I am sorry to read that your daughter took unwell and required to attend our Emergency Department here at University Hospital Wishaw. I am delighted to read how positive you found this experience for you and your daughter.

The Wishaw Hospital Emergency Department is working on a range of initiatives to reduce waiting times for patients to be seen and we have been working closely with the NHS Lanarkshire Interface Directorate who have supported us with this trial initiative where some of our GP colleagues are working within the Emergency Department. I am glad that you found this trial beneficial to you and I will ensure that this is fed back to the staff who are working so hard collaboratively as a team to support patient care.

Best wishes to you and I hope your daughers health improves

Faith
