"I felt in great hands"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Outpatients Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT)

(as the patient),

After being in a hospital bed for 8 days I was offered if I would be interested in moving to OPAT at Forth Valley Hospital.

I thought this was great. I would get all the treatment I would need. I just had to come in for 20 to 30 minutes every day.

This suited me down to earth..as I really was aware I was taking up a hospital bed 24\7  when the treatment could be done daily visits.

The staff in OPAT were just great, nothing was any problem to them, very qualified, I felt in great hands.

They even have a phone number for out of hours if anything is bothering you.

Great service and should be extended to more patients that is suitable to use this fantastic service.

Hello Peter172,

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of OPAT in FVRH.

We have a service which we as a team are proud of and are delighted when a patient has a positive and enjoyable stay with us.

I will pass this on to the rest of our team.

We wish you well and hope you are continuing to recover,
