"Outstanding Patient Care"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Palliative care The Princess Royal Maternity Unit / Gynaecology

(as a relative),

My mother-in-law was a patient on Ward 56 at Glasgow Royal Infirmary for a number of weeks between December 2024 and February 2025 when she passed away.

Over that time, she received exceptional care from all staff involved on the ward - Doctors, Nurses, the Palliative Care Team, Clinical Assistants, Catering and Domestic staff and the Ward Clerk.

I cannot express how much the family appreciated their dedicated approach to, not only my mother-in-law, but the entire family at an extremely difficult time. Their caring attitude and professionalism helped everyone cope with a very stressful situation. We really can’t thank every one of the staff enough.

At a time when NHS Scotland is being maligned daily by the Scottish media, I feel it is essential to convey our genuine admiration for all the staff who dedicate their care and attention to their patients.

Over the years many of our family have had nothing but the best of care from a service which should be admired all over the world.

Please pass on our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff on Ward 56 for their care of my mother-in-law– she loved them all!
