"Good care reversed by waiting on hard chairs"

About: Tenbury Community Hospital / Tenbury Inpatient Wards

(as the patient),

I had a stay in the Tenbury Cottage Hospital and as part of the investigations they looked at my hips.

All in all, my stay was very good and the care, food etc, was very good, and by the time I left, my hips felt better. However, I was offered transport home and had to wait 12 hours which resulted in my hips being bad again as a result of sitting on a hard chair.

This is very disappointing given the good care I had received before.

I am sorry to hear the long wait in a hard chair caused you pain whilst waiting for transport home. I apologise for the distress this has caused you, following a satisfactory stay at our hospital.

In the future we shall consider offering patients the choice to rest back on their bed, should there be a lengthy wait for their transport
