Don’t feel looked after or listened to at all. Made to feel like a nuisance and inconvenience when genuinely feel need for support with an ongoing health concern. Considering going private which really can’t afford but need to at least try to aim for a resolution. Genuinely sad that the longer the need for treatment goes on, the worse, longer and harder it is to treat. Triage is extremely difficult and upsetting to get through and causes as much distress as the actual health concern. Have been met with rudeness by triage staff.
I have never been a time waster or someone who merely needs attention from NHS staff but this is how I have been made to feel - and all the while finding it extremely difficult to see a doctor in any purposeful timeframe. Unfortunately ill health is inconvenient, which is why most seek their support - sadly, probably down to funding they don’t seem able to provide this, and I don’t feel able to continue to push to be acknowledged or put myself through the stress of trying and failing to be heard. The stress of consistently failing to be heard or adequately acknowledged while genuinely seeking medical care is causing serious mental health issues and isolation. I literally don’t know where to turn.
Have genuinely sang this surgery’s praises for the best part of 10 years, but cannot in all good conscience do this any longer.
How to improve:
Listen, understand, have more empathy and give the benefit of the doubt to a genuine patient in need.
Triage feels like a huge obstacle to overcome rather than a means of genuine communication or contact with health professionals. So exhausting and demeaning.
