"Outstanding care received"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding care we have received from the whole team throughout our boys journey into this world.

Expecting twins, we had regular appointments in PAU/the Antenatal Clinic. Each time we did, Midwife Kath and Midwife Sonographers Nadine, Ailsa, Fiona and Heather were friendly yet focussed. We remain in awe of their technical abilities!

Throughout our hospital stay, every single person was polite and professional. They took the time to look after everyone in our little family which means such a lot.

During the early part of our hospital stay, Clare and Suzie’s calm natures helped us to feel at ease. Our hospital stay coincided with a run of shifts for Rachel and Christina who are just wonderful midwives; so supportive and positive. They could not have been more kind to us. Abbie was so patient when we returned from theatre to labour ward feeling quite overwhelmed. Helena and Louise provided great support over the weekend, especially with establishing breastfeeding that they recognised was important to us. After a particularly exhausting night, Anne arrived like a breath of fresh air on Monday morning. She helped us to feel calm again and facilitated a very smooth discharge for us, with help from Nicole. Many other members of the team offered us drinks, answered the buzzer and provided company - no one could have helped us any more.

Dr McKenzie looked after us throughout pregnancy and we were delighted when she delivered our boys. At every stage, she explained the reasons for her recommendations. We had complete trust in her. Dr Magowan was committed to ensure our experience of induction was as smooth as possible.

We are very grateful to have delivered our boys at the BGH, and will never be able to thank the whole team enough. Working in healthcare ourselves, we now aspire to look after our own patients with the same outstanding care that we received. Thankyou all so, so much.

Thank you familyoffour for taking the time to share your lovely feedback.

I am delighted to hear you have had such a positive experience with your entire care through your pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey. It is lovely that you have described your care so intricately with the staff involved, I will share this with them, they will be absolutely delighted to hear they have made a difference to your experience!

I hope you are settling in at home with your new family of four, and managing some sleep with your new twin boys!

Kind Regards

Claire
