About: Patford House Partnership

Today I called as soon as the phone lines opened to make an appointment for my young child who had been up all night screaming in pain with severe earache and a fever. I was told I could have a phone consultation. When I explained he needed to be seen as I believed he had an ear infection and would require it to be looked at before possible antibiotics I was told I’d have to wait until Friday afternoon. I explained I needed an on the day appointment for fear his eardrum may rupture prior to Friday the receptionist told me it was not possible. Appalling care of a very young child.

Dear Patient, We are sorry to hear about your experience and understand how distressing it must have been to see your child in pain. Our process ensures that all requests are assessed by a clinician, who can then decide if an urgent in-person appointment is necessary based on symptoms. We aim to prioritise urgent cases, especially for young children, and we are sorry if this did not meet your expectations. We appreciate the feedback. Kind Regards, Julie Taylor - Operations Manager
