"The staff here were lovely"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as a carer),

After my last story regarding my husbands treatment following his oesophageal stent placement, we were advised that the mix up appeared to have been caused by mis communication.

My husband was discharged recently however by the following day he was struggling to keep solids down again. We had no option but to contact the hospital again.

The Upper GI nurses and dietitian were amazing and he was advised to come to the Surgical day unit. The staff here were lovely and as my husband was traumatised following his previous admission, they were very helpful and we must say a huge thanks to the nursing staff and especially Mr Kasem the surgeon who managed to fit my husband in for an endoscope despite an already full list.

Dear Karmic,

Thank you for sharing your husband's experience in University Hospital Wishaw, Day Surgery.

I am glad that following your previous negative experience, that your husband has had a much better experience with the team in Day Surgery. I am delighted to hear that Mr Kasem was able to slot your husband in, despite already having a full schedule and that the staff too into consideration the previous experience and your husbands nerves about being in hospital and ensured he has exemplary care. This must have been very reassuring for you both.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the whole team who I am sure will be delighted to hear your feedback.

I hope your husband is doing better now.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
