"A&E treatment"

About: Leighton Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

I was referred to A&E by my GP due to pain in abdomen plus my back to rule out kidney stones. The care was shocking, no empathy, I was given morphine after telling the nurse I had taken 500mg of nefapam prescribed by my GP. I started to feel really dizzy and really unwell after having this medication.

They did my blood pressure multiple times, which was low and I was put into a bed, absolutely shocking care. They did a urine sample which had slight bit of blood in it but they didn’t seem concerned, although I told them in my medical history of stage 4 endometriosis.

They said kidneys were fine plus pancreas was fine that I had pulled a muscle, when I explained I know the pain I’ve had cysts on a number of occasions plus I have adhesions from endometriosis, nobody listened and I got sent home.

Whilst I felt dizzy there was at least 5 nurses including a doctor present all laughing amongst themselves very unprofessional especially when your patient is frightened at that time.
