I went to my GP last year about pains in my neck, and tops of my arms. He did my bloods and x-ray and told me I have wear and tear in my shoulders. I had been an active grandmother of 7 prior to this and loved getting out for walks in the mornings and yoga twice a week, but the pain became so strong I couldn’t bear it.
Eventually the GP sent me through to physio, where I met Mark, a young man who worked in the city hospital, he talked me through my x-ray and I felt as though he really listened. After a few appointments he mentioned rheumatology and that he would write to my GP to ask for my bloods to be redone again but for more specific tests,
After battling back and forward with my GP who told me it definitely was wear and tear and nothing related to my bloods, my GP did my bloods which showed polymyalgia rheumatica, after a quick course of steroids and physio I was completely cured and back to my routine and grandkids,
I will forever advocate and recommend physio to anyone, this young man embodies the role he is in with a flair, and is definitely paving the way forward for any area he should work in, a shining example.
