"Essential services"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

My Daughter was poorly for over a year before she was eventually referred by her GP to Paediatric at Forth Valley Hospital, where she was subsequently diagnosed with Coeliac Disease. We continue to attend 6-monthly appointments with her Paediatric Coeliac Service Consultant and Dietitian for vital blood tests to monitor the heeling of her damaged gut lining and overall health improvement.

I dread to think how her health and quality of life would have been without these essential services. There is still not enough awareness of this disease and more education and funding is required to understand and identify the symptoms, especially in children.
