"Orthopaedic care"

About: Borders General Hospital / Theatres Borders General Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (Ward 9)

(as the patient),

I was in hospital for nearly a month with a post-op joint infection. The care I received while in hospital was exceptional, from the surgeon and his team, ward doctors , nursing staff and domestics. I was shown nothing but care and compassion at all times.

I was at all times treated with dignity and respect, I was involved in all conversations regarding my care , they were open and honest with me at all times. The team went above and beyond at NHS Borders and I could not have received better care anywhere and as a Borders patient we are lucky to have them all and are a shining example of what the NHS has to offer.

Every day we hear negative stories about the NHS and not enough about the great work that is being achieved and WD 9 deserves  recognition for delivering such high standards of care, an amazing team! .
