I recently attended the Urology Day Surgery Centre at QMH. On the days leading up to my procedure (Optical urethrotomy and diagnostic cystoscopy under general anaesthetic) I was quite anxious of what may be found. (I previously had 5.5 weeks of chemoradiotherapy for anal cancer, and 6 sessions 8 weeks apart of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to treat 11 areas of malignant cells (carcinomas) found on my oesophagus).
I couldn't have asked for a more supportive and attentive team of Nurses, Consultants and Anaestetists who immediately put my anxiety, fest and vulnerability at ease.
Having returned home (later that same day) catheterised for 5 days. I have had no adverse reaction to my GA, nor have I any UT infections. I am disappointed that my appt to remove the catheter will be at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy (VHK), as my experience at QMH was first class.
"My experience was first class"
