"You couldn't ask for better"

About: Mid-Ulster Hospital / Endoscopy Suite

(as the patient),

I went for a colonoscopy in Magherafelt and I could not have been treated quicker. Checked in at 815am and left at 950am and that's including the half hour to stay after gas and air and got some much needed toast and tea.

Every nurse, admin staff and the doctor doing the procedure were friendly, reassuring and we had a great laugh. You couldn't ask for better. Left feeling very reassured that nothing sinister is at play in bowels.

My name is Debbie Poots. I am the Deputy Ward Manager of the Endoscopy Unit in Mid Ulster Hospital. I would like to Thank you for taking the time to respond to our Care Opinion link. I am delighted to hear that you found all the staff in the unit to be friendly and reassuring. We like to try and ensure we treat every patient as we would want to be treated ourselves and feel these attributes you have mentioned are very important to help relieve patients anxieties A wee laugh along the way is also a great help in distracting from those anxieties. It is great to hear that your journey from start to finish also went so well and that you did not have to spend too long waiting to get your procedure done or get home again.

I will ensure that I pass your lovely compliments onto all the staff in the unit.
