"Giving Birth"

About: Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73) / Labour suite

(as the patient),

My labour was induced and was so quick that I did not get any pain relief, which I am not upset about as it was the nature of my labour and I am glad it went quick.

Midwife who delivered baby and the doctors and other medical staff who helped were amazing and so supportive. I screamed a lot and they could not have been more understanding and reassuring.

They were very supportive of my husband in the room too and asked for my consent on everything throughout.

The staff on the wards after were incredibly helpful and supportive, they helped with nappies and swaddling baby when myself and husband weren’t too sure how to go about it. They constantly checked on myself and brought me pain relief regularly. Nothing was too much trouble.

Dear apusmp88,

Congratulations on your new baby's arrival. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story. Given how swiftly labour progressed, I'm sure it must have been a very frightening for you. However, I'm glad the staff gave you the assistance you required.

Thanks again for posting.

Kind Regards,

Tracy Orr
