"Great staff!"

About: Scarborough General Hospital

The staff were amazing with our little girl at 2am we were told to go by 111. We were seen quickly by a triage nurse and then an hour wait for a GP. My only issue is there was 2 adults sleeping in the children's waiting and our daughter didn't want to go in because she felt uncomfortable. I feel there should be someone keeping an eye on things like this as sen kids (ours included) need a space such as that.

Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us.

We’re so pleased to hear that your daughter was treated with kindness and care during your late-night visit, and that you were seen quickly by both the triage nurse and GP. Your kind words about the staff will be shared with the team at Scarborough General Hospital they’ll really appreciate hearing how much their support meant to you and your family.

We’re sorry to hear, however, that your daughter felt uncomfortable in the children’s waiting area due to other individuals sleeping there. We completely understand how important it is for children to have a safe and appropriate space when waiting for care. Your feedback highlights an important issue, and we will share this with the relevant team to consider what steps can be taken to ensure the area remains suitable and welcoming for all children.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your feedback, and we hope your daughter is now feeling much better.

Warm regards,
Patient Experience Team
