"I could not have asked for better care or service"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency East Surrey Hospital / Cardiology South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I had an occurrence of atrial fibrillation, where my heart accelerated to between 130 and 200 beats per minute. It happened late on a Saturday night at a lower level of 120 and I managed to sleep a few hours before I decided, via my wife, to call 111 early on the Sunday morning at 06:30.

Very soon 2 paramedics arrived with the full ambulance some 30 minutes later when the paramedics decided I needed to be flat when transported to East Surrey. Both the paramedics and ambulance crew were excellent in every regard and after an extended diagnosis I was duly taken to East Surrey by 09:30.

Straight into A&E followed by a move into the HDU. After being triaged and examined by a doctor and later by the consultant I was shock treated at 13:00 and released at 15:00 with a normal rhythm for my heart.

Throughout the whole experience all staff were brilliant, caring and professional. I could not have asked for better care or service.

Thank you very much for posting your review of our staff when you needed our help. I was very pleased to hear how well everything worked for you and I hope that you are now feeling much better.

I would like to pass your feedback onto the staff concerned and, in order that I can identify them, I would be grateful if you could contact us direct to give us some more details. We will then be able to share your comments with the staff and their managers.

You can contact my colleague, Sandra, who handles compliments for the Trust, by email at sandra.king@secamb.nhs.uk or you can leave her a voicemail on 0300 123 9242 and she will call you back.

We look forward to hearing from you and thank you again for taking the time to leave your lovely review.

Best wishes

Marie
