"Care has been nothing short of amazing"

About: Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73) / Labour suite

(as a service user),

I had my baby mid February at the princess royal maternity hospital.

It was my first baby and I was naturally scared and anxious and had been booked in for induction the day before.

I spent time in ward 72 I think before being taken to the labour ward in the early hours on the day. I want to mention that the care and compassion I received from everyone has been nothing short of amazing.

Special thanks to the midwives who cared for me during labour during the night and throughout the day. Keeping me calm and dimming the lights extra touches putting music on and just generally being there for me. The student midwife dee sticks in my head too, ill never forget her and she will be a fantastic midwife.

After I had my baby she never left my side and was so supportive in helping me start my breastfeeding journey. Thank you so much everyone at the labour ward , and the kind doctors and anaesthetists in theatre keeping me calm and informed when I was so frightened and confused.

You are all walking angels.

Dear whispermy43,

Congratulations on the birth of your first baby. Hope everything is going well. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. It is great to hear how well supported you felt by the staff during your labour and birth journey. I will be delighted to share this with them all but will make a point of contacting Dee to give her your feedback. This type of postive feedback is so encouraging for our students. Thanks again.

Best Wishes,

Tracy Orr

Lead Midwife
