About: Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as a service user),

Fighting through the Mental Health system for over ten years now. I've told my story to over 50 people and as of my most recent appointment, have to keep doing so because the stock phrase is that they haven't looked at my file, that they want to hear from me.

Let down, shouted at and ignored by the Crisis Team every single time without fail. Unable to reach the 24/7 helpline because of low staff. Constant lists, being fobbed off, the members of staff who do care are like unicorns made of diamonds, when help comes it's good but rare.

I just want to feel better and be heard.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to hear of your experience of mental health services generally and more specifically of your difficulties contacting our Crisis Team and Mental Health Helpline. I apologise for the upset and frustration this has caused for you at what will have been a difficult time. I will share your feedback with our Service Manager and Area Service Manager and ask that they discuss your experience with staff to ensure that we can learn from the feedback you have provided. If you would like us to look into your specific case, please email our Patient Experience Team at dhcft.patientexperience@nhs.net and they will do their best to help. Thank you again for your feedback. Anne Reilly, Patient Experience Manager.
