"Sent me home much happier and more positive about the future"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I want to thank everyone at Cloughreagh for what you did for me. I arrived after spending a week in Craigavon Hospital confused, tired, immobile and in pain, and had no idea what awaited me in Cloughreagh House. From the very start of my stay  your kindness and caring attitude made a big difference.

All the little things like the decor, the bunches of fresh flowers, the candles on the birthday cakes was so unlike the impersonal sterility of a hospital ward but above all it was the staff, every single one of you, that made the difference. -

The amazing speed of a call bell answered day or night,

The quiet are you all right when someone looked a bit down,

The endless patience with even the most demanding patient,

The cheerful good morning.

The laughter.

The quick way you noticed someone struggling to open a carton or cut up meat.

The constant encouragement to take the next small step towards regaining independence.

The way you always seemed to have time for us no matter how busy you were.

The physiotherapists and OT's were very good and played a big part in my physical recovery, but Cloughreagh House restored my confidence and sent me home much happier and more positive about the future.  I can only say Thank you all once again, You really made a difference.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion, this is such a lovely tribute to the staff in Cloughreagh House. The team do work really hard to ensure everyone who accesses our service has an experience that makes a positive difference.

As you indicated in your story this was achieved by teams working cohesively to ensure each element of your care needs were met in a meaningful and was person centred way.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your very kind feedback and to wish you continued good health. It was a privilege to play our part in your recovery journey.

Kind regards

Kate Mc Beth
