I was admitted for a scheduled knee arthroscopy to remove a foreign body. The staff at the SWAOC were brilliant from start to finish, from the security chap who walked me to reception, all of the nurses and physios, through to the theatre staff. I felt very well cared for.
My only complaint is the contradictory information provided about what to do before the operation, and about recovery afterwards. I was given conflicting advice about when to have my last meal before surgery and also am not clear how long I need to use my crutches for/how best to speed my recovery now that I’ve had the operation.
One piece of information says full weight bearing without any restrictions, another says to use my crutches for the next two weeks, another says to try to walk in a normal walking pattern as soon as possible.
