"Emergency surgery"

About: General Surgery / General Surgery (Ward 7 & 8) Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I recently attended A&E at Ninewells hospital due to lower right abdominal pain. The staff were brilliant, efficient and the care they gave me was second to none. I was put at ease and kept up to date with the everything that was going on.

I was quickly admitted to Ward 7 (surgical ward) and put under the care of Jen and the team. Jen was amazing, so friendly yet professional and again my care and comfort was at the forefront of everything.

Fiona looked after me during the night while I waited for surgery. Fiona listened to how I was feeling and made me feel at ease as I spent my first evening in hospital. Again her care and attention was wonderful.

The next morning I was taken to surgery for an appendicitis and then was taken to ward 32 to recover for the evening. The nurse who took care of me the night after my operation listened to how I was feeling and tired to make me as comfortable as possible.

My whole experience was made the best it could be thanks to the staff who all took wonder care of me. Not just the nurses but all the porters and care assistants were lovely.
