About: New Victoria Hospital / Cardiac rehabilitation

(as the patient),

I attended Cardio Rehab classes at the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow between January and March. The class provided a balanced level of physical activity to meet my needs following quadruple heart bypass surgery in Nov '24. 

The class was expertly supervised and with a very good level of medical, physical and emotional support.  The support provided increased my confidence week on week and had a very positive effect on the rate of my recovery enabling me to set a target to return to the activities that I participated in prior to my operation.  I firmly believe that without this support my return to normality would have been a lot slower and less enjoyable.  I would strongly recommend that anyone offered Cardio Rehab support utilise the opportunity and embrace the experience.

My name is Hilary and I am one of the physiotherapists in the cardiac rehabilitation team at the New Victoria Hospital, Glasgow.

It is great to hear you found the classes provided a balanced level of physical activity to meet your needs following your bypass and that over the course of the rehabilitation sessions you felt more confident to return to the activities that you participated in prior to your operation.

I will happily pass onto the team you felt the classes were expertly supervised, with a very good level of medical, physical and emotional support. All feedback is always very much appreciated.

I have no doubt that you will continue in your exercise journey and we at the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team here at the New Victoria Hospital are very happy that we have helped give you the confidence to do this.
