"Misdiagnosed"

About: General practices in Tayside

(as a service user),

I attended the surgery multiple times about a firm lump that was increasing in size. I was first told that the doctor didn’t know what it was but it wasn’t serious. On my fourth appointment about this I was told by a different doctor it was a cyst and not to bother them again about it. I moved to a different GP practice and on my first visit the new GP suspected it could be a tumour and referred me to hospital urgently. I was then diagnosed with sarcoma which was more difficult to treat due to its large size and late diagnosis.
