"The staff are out of this world"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Ambulatory Care Unit

(as a relative),

My mum was recently at AMU.

I have to say the staff are out of this world. They showed so much compassion, care and attention.

Mum is registered blind and had very high infection markers. They spoke to her like a person and not over her head. They took time to explain why she had to stay, showed empathy and compassion.

All the team - from the nursing assistants, nurses, doctors and cleaning staff -  were a credit to the NHS.

The catering staff however seemed uninterested and as if it was a bother for them to do the job. I appreciate it's a high pressurised environment, but all they need to do is smile and show a bit of empathy.

As always they was some phenomenal staff.

Jenni, the deputy sister on both days , was amazing, kind and so caring. Even though she was under serious pressure. She remained calm and treated mum was the upmost respect and care.

Siji the RGN that looked after mum. Even though she is relatively new. She was so kind, even taken mum blood she showed unwavering care and made sure mum was OK.

Miada the SHO, wow where do I start. She was so patient, understanding, kind and professional. I have never seen a doctor be so patient, understanding and through. A real credit to herself and the hospital. 11/10

Lastly the sister Catherine. You run an amazing department. You are so kind and know every part of that ward. You took time to chat and get to know us.

I am forever indebted to your team.

You are the real NHS, that care and strive to be the best.

I can't praise ACU enough and am forever grateful.

Thanks for making a stressful few days, easier

You are all amazing 👏 ❤️ 💖 🤩
