"Myself and General Anxiety Disorder"

About: Talking Therapies Rotherham

(as a service user),

I fell apart, not able to function in a normal way. I felt useless and a complete failure. Falling asleep whilst driving at 70mph on a dual carriageway was the wake up call that I needed to push me to seek help.

I was referred to talking therapy - CBT.

My therapist Chris was always professional and friendly. We established a good talking relationship with lots of laughter, which helped during the tough times. My experience was invaluable and has helped me to deal with my anxiety in a way I never thought possible. All I can say is Thank You!!

Hey taurusj69,

Thank you so much for taking the time to sit and write this feedback, as a service we are extremely appreciative when our patients are able to let us know what their experience has been like while under our care! It enables us to identify what we are getting right, and to recognise what we can do differently to better support patients.

I'm sorry to see how hard things were for you prior to referring into Talking Therapies, and to see that you felt like you were a failure and useless. I can't honestly imagine how hard that must have been for you. I'm glad that seeking help led you to our door and that we were able to offer you the treatment you needed and deserved.

Your comments about the time you spent working with Chris are so wonderful to read, clearly you developed a wonderful relationship together which included lots of humour and laughter! I will pass this feedback onto Chris so that he can see the impact of his work with patients, I know he will be so thankful that he was able to be there with you during such a tough time, and that he will be glad that the work you did together has helped you so much. Thanks again, it means a lot.

Kindest regards,

Faye

Hey,

That's truly amazing to hear! We are always keen to spread the word about our service as there will undoubtedly still be people in Rotherham who would really benefit from the therapies we can offer. Knowing that patients are letting their family and friends know about us is genuinely heart-warming. Fingers crossed that your kindness in sharing your experience will mean somebody else can take steps towards accessing the help they need.

I passed your feedback onto Chris and he was delighted to see it, so thanks again for brightening our days.

Kindest regards,

Faye
