I was referred to the Dirrans Centre for rehabilitation by my neuropsychologist after suffering a traumatic brain injury. The effects of my injury have improved with the rehabilitation and support from the staff at the Dirrans. Susan oversees and adapts my personal exercise program to improve my physical ability and balance which helps me to be more mobile and independent as possible.
Yesterday I received a letter from NAHSCP to inform me that they are introducing a charge per session (which is one and a half hours one day per week). This cost will make the rehabilitation service way outside my financial ability and I feel like this charge is extremely excessive for 90 minutes.
The charge has been based on Day Centre charges. Day Centre charges include transport to and from the centre, lunch and can cover a full days care, this does not in anyway compare to 90 minutes of rehabilitation.
The Dirrans staff have really helped me to improve my physical and balance problems
I hope that NAHSCP will reconsider this charge
"They have really helped me to improve"
