"A very healing experience"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit

(as the patient),

The introduction of continuity in antenatal and maternity care has vastly improved my pregnancy care experience. In my first pregnancy, before continuity care was introduced, I felt dismissed and inadequate care resulting in a negative pregnancy and birth experience.

This time, it's like night and day. Seeing the same midwife all the way through my pregnancy, feeling heard and listened to, and experiencing health care professionals going above and beyond has been a very healing experience.

Dear nemo88,

Thank you so much for your feedback, regarding continuity of care during your pregnancy. I was sad to read that your first pregnancy experience was not as we would have expected, but am so pleased that you felt listened to, and that staff went above and beyond, giving a very healing experience.

I hope you are doing well, and I will share this with staff who will appreciate your feedback.

Many thanks

Heather Riddoch
