"Looking forward to her continuing support"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Parkinson's Service

(as the patient),

I have recently attended a Power Up course for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s.  Organised by North Devon Healthcare Services. Cannot praise Suzanne and the other members of the team highly enough.  This course was excellent.

It gave me the opportunity to learn more about my condition and how to manage it to stay fit and well for as long as is possible.  The weekly exercise classes were varied and effective to give individuals plenty of choice to suit them.  Helen’s Pilates sessions were particularly helpful as were the sessions on LSVT BIG, PD Warriers and Nordic Walking.

The follow up discussions/presentations from different professionals and Suzanne about the range of support services available were invaluable as was the information about medication, diet, exercise etc.

My husband attended the sessions held for partners/carers/supporters and found these to be very useful in understanding the condition and how best he can support me. No longer feel I am on this journey alone and have every confidence in Suzanne and her team going forward.  Looking forward to her continuing support.  Many thanks.

Dear sprightly

Thank you so much for your positive feedback about Power UP! The 11-week programme is designed to support both the person with Parkinson's and their partner. I am so please that both you and your husband have found it supportive and informative.

Please consider joining the local Parkinson's UK branch via email members.nd@gmail.com if you have not done this already. This is a great way to keep in touch with people and find out about events that are happening locally.

Many thanks
