"Birth of my daughter"

About: Community Maternity Care / Bellshill Community Maternity Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73) / Labour suite

(as a service user),

I requested to deliver at PRM, transferring from WGEN which was straightforward with no contest from any staff.

My midwife in Lanarkshire, Alice was amazing and we struck a bond straight away, she made my appointments engaging and informative throughout. I miss our catch-ups already. I had requested an elective section - the service and care from all my providers was incredible. This was my first delivery and I was anxious for the procedure but every member of staff was supportive and knowledgeable throughout my journey.

I was given to the labour team on late March from the elective team. On the day, Anna was my anaesthetist and she was absolutely amazing. I instantly had trust her in confidence and hilarious personality. She had me sussed straight away and was a step ahead of my needs. I had most of my interactions with her as she was at my side of the drapes - the time flew in by chatting away to her about work as my partner and I are both clinicians.

It was all a bit of a blur the other side but the Doctor who done my section was also amazing. She almost whisked me along with her so I wasn’t caught up too much with the intricacies. I had zero pain, zero anxiety, zero stress. It was such a calm and collected environment I’m incredibly grateful to her. I’m so sorry I’ve forgotten your name, but I hope this reaches you. My scar is perfect, near invisible and the community team agree it’s so well done. Thank you so so much for giving me the experience I hoped for, but never imagined to be so possible.

Dear delphinuswf35,

Congratulations on the arrival of your first baby. I am delighted that you have had such a postive experience during your pregnancy and birth. Although you were anxious, the staff created a calm and relaxed environment, which is wonderful to hear. I will share this great feedback with the whole team and the staff you have mentioned.

Best Wishes
