"Calm and understanding"

About: Community Services / North Lincolnshire Recovery Focussed team

(as a service user),

I have CPTSD, I was offered a place with the SASI group. I didn't want to go I hate groups . Nicky and Vickie ran the session it was extremely difficult , every bloody week I hated it.

Nicky and Vickie were  amazing and so calm with us they seemed to genuinely understand what we were experiencing not just someone who learnt from a book.

I struggled to understand a lot of the information because I'm also dyslexic but they explained things in a different way. That meant so much I have always felt thick and stupid.

Honestly I wouldn't of stuck it out if it wasn't for them.

I have seen many mental health people over the years and these two by far have been the best. 1 thing I hated was having to introduce ourselves at the beginning, maybe name tags would be better?.

It's like Ronseal šŸ¤£

Thank you for everything, from the one who never wanted to come and told you at any chance I could.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience of the group. I appreciate groups can be a daunting experience. I'm pleased to hear that Nikki and Vickie adapted the materials for the group and how you felt they supported you to stay with the group despite it's challenges.

Thank you for sharing your ideas about name tags. I will make sure I share your feedback with the people running our groups and hopefully we can consider making some changes based on your feedback. I am sure Nikki and Vickie will value your feedback on their approach.

If you would like to discuss your experience of groups any further, please do contact me on 03000 216 300.

Best wishes,

Chris Sanderson
