"Always running late"

About: Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre / radiology

(as a carer),

My father has been attending at his appointment, being told to be there every day for 4 weeks 30 mins before his treatment. Every day he has been seen late bar one day. No explanations, no notifications given whatsoever from the staff. We are travelling at busy periods every day, earlier than needed to ensure we get there before the appointment. It's extremely disappointing and wouldn't be acceptable anywhere else. At least notifying patients would be a start.

Dear Kacwf86

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding your father’s recent experiences with his appointments.

I appreciate the inconvenience caused by delays and the lack of communication regarding appointment timings. I sincerely apologise for the frustration this has created for both your father and your family.

If you would like to discuss this further, can you please contact my colleagues Barry Caldwell Pre-Treatment Lead Radiographer on 0141 301 7287 or Eithne Macpherson Head of Radiotherapy on 0141 301 7174.

Please pass on my apologies to your father.

Thank you.

Nicole
