I have been registered with Buckden Surgery for several years and have always received prompt, kind and effective medical support for various reasons. Everyone that I have been in contact with has been professional, efficient but with kindness and empathy. During a particular dark period, the practice nurse provided me with support that had a huge impact on my well-being. Her patience and approach to my depression enabled me to become more objective about my feelings and her on-going support helped me to recover and return to my normal self more quickly. Knowing that I was receiving her support with follow-up phone calls, helped me but also reassured my husband who has mostly had to support me through periods of depression alone. Buckden Surgery makes good use of technology to make their services more efficient with online request for appointments, repeat prescriptions and other services. This may not be to everyone's taste, but it's brilliant to be able to collect prescriptions at any time of day from the secure access machine. The people that work on reception in Buckden and Little Paxton has always been helpful and kind in their manner making sometimes difficult or stressful interactions easier. My only negative comment is that I have to order prescription medications monthly when it would be more convenient for me to order every two months, but I understand that this has an impact on the payments the surgery receives so it's not a big deal. I would be worried if I had to move out of the area and had to register with a different practice as I'd worry that it wouldn't be anywhere near as good. I hope they can continue to maintain their excellent levels of service. Incidentally, my husband's view of Buckden Surgery is the same, we both think it's very good.
