"The whole experience and service received was outstanding"

About: East Kilbride Locality Support Service / Urgent Care Team (East Kilbride)

(as a relative),

Our mum who is in her 90s and is both blind and hard of hearing, but who still lives independently, suffered a series of falls over a short period and Claire one of the nurses from the East Kilbride Urgent Care Team came out to check her over for any injuries or issues.

The request for a visit was made at 9.00am in the morning and the nurse was out by 12.00 noon.

Claire could not have been nicer putting our mum at ease and showing great patience whilst undertaking a thorough assessment and carrying out a full set of medical checks.

The Speed of the teams response, the professionalism of the nurse and her pleasant easy going manner all helped put our mum at ease after what had been a traumatic 24 hours.

After the visit the nurse followed up by phoning me to give me an update on her assessment, confirmed a prescription had been passed to the Pharmacy and arranged a follow up visit for a week later.

This I felt was excellent communication from the nurse and the whole experience and service received from the GP and the East Kilbride Urgent Care Team was outstanding.

Thank you sharing your positive feedback about our team. Feedback is so important for our team to allow us to continually improve and develop our service. I am delighted we were able to provide an efficient service for your Mum who has had a difficult time lately. It's lovely to hear Clare was so professional, thorough, kind and patient to your Mum throughout the assessment and followed up your Mum's plan of care with a phone call. I have passed on your kind words to Clare. Many thanks and we wish you and you Mum all the best.

Kind regards,

Sarah Byrne
