"Terrible booking system"

About: Winchcombe Medical Centre

Booking an appointment is practically impossible. The system is designed entirely to suit the needs of the surgery, not its patients. There is no distinction made between requests for urgent and routine appointments meaning that if you are unable to use the online system before it closes when full (so different time everyday) you cannot make an appointment. You cannot request a routine appointment at weekends or out of hours, you are funnelled through the same system dealing with urgent requests.

When in the waiting room the video screens cycle through claims of how little money the surgery receives per patient, further demonstrating the priority to deter people from engaging with the surgery. The approach and messaging all signal that the patients are an inconvenience and waste of time and the focus is on ensuring that it is as difficult as possible to arrange an appointment. What you do if you have no access to the internet as the phone is not always answered is anyone’s guess.
