"Referred for potential ADHD diagnosis"

About: Children and Young People Services / Child and Adolescent Mental Services

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was referred to CAMHS by his GP due to ongoing issues with concentration, feeling of brain fog and inability to focus in class.

The appointment letter came through a few weeks later with an appointment at CAMHS Bocombra Lodge 6 weeks later.

We met with Bernie, who took the time to make us both comfortable, chatted to my son to confirm why he thought he was there, and took us through the process.

At all times we both felt comfortable. We completed some questionnaires and Bernie discussed next steps. We each had some follow ups re paper work.

It was a very helpful session.

Hello

Thank you for taking the time to share your personal story with Care Opinion. It is positive to hear when you and your son met with Bernie that you both felt at ease. It is important that processes are explained and hopefully when all forms are returned your referral will be made to the appropriate service.

I will share your story with Bernie and the wider team.

Regards

Shirley Dennison
