"Everyone was really helpful"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Clinical assessment unit Forth Valley Royal Hospital / GP Out of Hours

(as a service user),

I was recently seen at out of hours for severe migraine. The nurse (Marie) asked for the lights to be turned off where I was waiting and the nurse who saw me also put the lights off in the consulting room.

When I was admitted to CAU I was in a loud and well lit waiting room but my husband went home and got ear plugs and earphones which helped. We were given something to eat and drink which was fab.

After I’d seen the Doctor I was put into a room which was much darker and quieter so I could sleep and when staff were doing obs or giving me medication they used a torch and didn’t put the light on.

This morning when the staff needed that room I was allowed to sit in the dark in the relatives room, again, so I could avoid the light. Everyone was really helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as I could be.

These may be really small gestures to some but it meant the world to me. Thank You 💙

Good morning Donna240,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of your recent visit to Out Of Hours (OOH). I acknowledge that your treatment included other services in addition to OOH so I respond on behalf of OOHs.

I was sorry to hear of your severe migraine that required you to receive the treatment you needed however was encouraged to hear that the care and help you received within OOH meant so much to you.

I will share your feedback with the team who I know will value your comments.

Thank you again for sharing your experience with us and I trust you are feeling better and you are recovering well

Regards

Andrew McCall
