I woke up with double vision, having felt something wasn't quite right when I was at work the previous day. I have rarely had need of GP services as I class myself as having good health.
Looking across our housing estate, there were definitely more houses and cars than usually experienced.
My hope was it would go away, but the issue remained.
Contacted GP and by 09.30 I was being assessed. By 13.30 I was in Same Day Hospital RDE Exeter having CT scan, Heart and Lung scan, plus blood tests.
All tests came back clear bar cholesterol level and raised blood pressure, hence scans checking for stroke, tumors etc.
I had a further appointment at RDE eye clinic, going through tests that confirmed that I had sixth sense palsy to my right eye which may take some time to correct itself or other options if it doesn't.
Having rarely had need of the health service I would like to thank my GP at Bramblehais surgery Cullompton for her rapid action in referring me to RDE Exeter and to the staff and specialists at the Same Day Hospital RDE and Eye Clinic RDE for diagnosing the condition so quickly and efficiently which has enabled a plan of support to be put in place whilst offering reassurances even though it might take some time for the condition to be resolved.
To all your professionalism and support was without question when finding yourself in changed circumstances.
"Professionalism and support"
