"Nurse in Xray"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Imaging

(as a relative),

My dad recently came in for a CT scan in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. When I was up visiting him he said that he was bursting for the loo when a nurse (I am sure he said her name was Steph)  helped him as well as a student nurse (possibly Hannah?).

He said he had asked a few people to help him which they never returned however explained how nice and patient Steph and Hannah were with him as he has mobility issues and can struggle with the bathroom. He was also extremely anxious for his CT scan and said that they totally put him at ease with their warm nature.

Thank you ladies for looking after my dad, he was one happy man after your attention and care yous both provided. A true role model of what should be expected from members of the NHS.

My dad has always been extremely anxious about scans and attending areas he is unsure of due to needing the bathroom easily and being embarrassed, but he has been ranting about these lovely girls all day and how patient, caring and attentive they were, and how this made his experience overall a joy.

Thank you girls from one man and his family, it truly makes a lot.

Dear Susan475

Thank you so much for sharing this lovely message about your dad’s experience at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. We’re absolutely delighted to hear how well he was looked after by Steph and Hannah during what we know can be a very anxious time.

It's heartening to know that their kindness, patience, and reassuring nature made such a difference—not only in helping your dad feel more comfortable physically, but also in easing his worries before his CT scan. It’s so important to us that our patients feel respected, supported and treated with compassion, and it sounds like Steph and Hannah truly embodied that.

We’ll make sure your message is passed on to both of them, and to their wider team—feedback like this really does mean a lot and helps reinforce the impact of small acts of care and attentiveness.

Please pass on our best wishes to your dad, and thank you again for taking the time to recognise the wonderful care he received.

Kind regards

Kevin
